Dance Moves STL (DMSTL) is a proud provider of the renowned Dancing Classrooms Core Residency curriculum. The Dancing Classrooms Core Residency is a social and emotional learning program that cultivates essential life skills in students through the practice of ballroom dance. By addressing the social and emotional needs of the whole child, the Dancing Classrooms Core Residency aims to empower young people, foster positive social interactions, and build teamwork in St. Louis area schools. DMSTL teaching artists model, instruct, and guide students in developing important skills and behaviors including civility, respect, teamwork, and self-discipline whilst teaching the basic steps of six different ballroom dances.

The Dancing Classrooms Core Residency is for students in grade 5.
• 20 lessons taught twice weekly for 45-50 minutes each
• flexible program structure accommodates ALL students regardless of ability, restrictions, or limitations
• meets many state and national learning requirements for Music, PE, and Social Studies
• includes cross-curricular activities to connect with 5th grade learning outcomes
