Martin City, Jr., has a variety of original interactive musicals for children. Each musical revolves around an important theme for children, such as self-esteem, tolerance, and respect for peers. Martin City, Jr., uses originial source material such as Native American legends, folk tales from different cultures, and oral histories to create its stage stories. Martin City, Jr., writes original songs for all of its shows to highlight the educational content of each performance in an entertaining and engaging way.

Dr. Laverty is an acclaimed concert pianist in the traditional style, and performs repertoire from Bach to Barber and beyond. He specializes in solo recitals consisting entirely of Bach, Mozart or Chopin, but also performs programs featuring a variety of composers. In addition he performs a variety of the concerto masterworks with orchestra. His debut CD, Music of Bach, was released in 2007.

Marimba Sol de Chiapas marimba band has been sharing the magical music of the Mexican Marimba with audiences of all ages in a variety of local, national, and international venues for more than 30 years. Sol is committed to the authentic performance practice and spirit of the marimba heard throughout Mesoamerica, including regional folkloric and popular music from Mexico, Guatemala, and other Latin American traditions. Musical offerings include concert performances and festival appearances, and Sol’s mesmerizing “Passport to Fiesta!: A Festival of Traditional Mexican Music and Dance” is a collaborative celebration of the captivating world of Mexican folkloric music and dance. Dedicated to community as well as art, Sol is proud to offer bilingual (Spanish/English) arts education programming, master classes, lecture/workshops, and residencies, and Sol is School Touring Qualified under the auspices of Kansas City Young Audiences (see separate listing).

Ozarks Legend Marideth Sisco is a consummate storyteller, songwriter, singer of Oscar-nominated “Winter’s Bone” fame, Her smooth, down home delivery of tales and anecdotes will leave you laughing one minute and crying the next.
Marideth has performed for libraries, churches, associations, service organizations, music venues, festivals and national and state park events across the U.S. She is the 2018 recipient of the Quill Award from the Missouri Writers Hall of Fame.
A new program is her “Front Porch Stories & Songs. Joined by gospel singer Mary Alexander, Marideth tells the story of the American front porch and the songs, from the memorable to the obscure, that portray a fascinating and iconic slice of American life.

This energetic husband and wife team presents a wide variety of classical song, arias, and solo piano works alongside light jazz/popular songs and piano pieces. Lyric Duo has toured throughout the U.S. and China and its performances have been broadcast on television stations, including KSCI-TV, Los Angeles, and Nanjing Broadcasting, China. Lyric Duo is deeply committed to the education of young audiences and performers. It offers school programs for all grades as well as master classes for colleges/universities, and music teachers’ organizations.

The Lucky Old Sons is a four piece band focused on the popular oldies of the mid twentieth century. Along with playing the timeless music of Elvis, Chuck Berry, Fats Domino, Jerry Lee Lewis and many others, they also feature their own quirky originals along the same lines.
The band features Matt Davis, piano/vocals; Steve Bauer, bass/vocals; Bill Walters, drums/vocals; and Ian Buschmann, saxophone/vocals.
The Lucky Old Sons has been a featured Touring Performer with the Missouri Arts Council for over ten years. They have opened for country music legend, Clint Black, as well as performed at the Big Muddy Blues Festival and National Blues Week festivities in St. Louis. The band released an all original album, Friendly Valley, in 2010, and are currently at work on a second original album.

Lindley Creek, has performed regularly since 2003 at venues such as Silver Dollar City and were featured at the Missouri State Fairgrounds in Sedalia performing to over 4000. They also return yearly to the KSMU Youth in Bluegrass Competition to play among friends and lend their support to young performers.

Leslie Salazano is an active performer, singer-songwriter, and pianist. She has earned degrees in music from DePaul University and the University of the Arts. She released her first EP “Stars in the Attic” in 2006. Since then she has organized international solo tours, gained radio airplay in the US, Canada and Europe, played shows in Asia in 2008, and was nominated Best Singer-Songwriter in St. Louis in 2009 in the Riverfront Times Music Awards.
