The Missouri Symphony Orchestra is a 50-member professional symphony orchestra under the direction of Music Director and Conductor Kirk Trevor. Each summer in June and July, talented musicians from the finest conservatories and universities in the U.S. and worldwide create the Hot Summer Nights Festival in Columbia’s historic Missouri Theatre and tour around the state. The Missouri Symphony Orchestra’s innovative classical and pops programming makes performances fun and exciting for all ages.
Founded in 1970, The Missouri Symphony strives to enhance and increase the cultural awareness of symphonic music in mid-Missouri by engaging professional artists and educating young musicians through exceptional music performance. Based in Columbia, Missouri, MOSY includes the Missouri Symphony Orchestra, the Missouri Symphony Conservatory, and the Missouri Symphony League.
Formed in 2009, the Missouri Saxophone Quartet is a contemporary chamber ensemble devoted to exploring and promoting new music, especially that of Missouri composers. The group has inspired several commissions and has presented them at venues throughout North America and Europe. The quartet offers recitals between 1-2 hours in classical, contemporary, jazz and popular selections
Mareck Dance, a professional dance company based in Columbia, is dedicated to making dance accessible and exciting for all. Miss Jubilee plays a variety of 1920s Hot Jazz to 1950s Swing, Jump Blues & R’n’R led by the powerful vocals of Miss Jubilee. Featuring a talented horn section, upright bass, drums & guitar, this band mesmerizes every listener with their ability to play older jazz & blues and bring energy and life to the songs. Miss Jubilee is a perfect choice for a night of all types of swing dancing. (Charleston, Lindy Hop, Swing, East Coast, Jitterbug, St. Louis Shag, Balboa) With her strong vocals Miss Jubilee can sing 1920s Hot Jazz & Blues so powerfully one can understand those songs as if they were written today. She can belt out some Swing and Jump Blues in a way that has everyone’s toes tapping. The band uses an authentic approach to playing & even dress in vintage styles! Mick Byrd’s signature, “Ozark Blues”, Roots Country and Roots Rock music is catching the attention of music lovers and venues alike. The Missouri Ozarks is both home and backdrop to Byrd who has regularly performed at Nashville’s Bluebird Café. An award from Billboard Magazine kicked off his music career in 1994. Eleven recordings later, Mick brings fans an amazing array of original music. Whether solo on acoustic guitar, Backroad Duo or Backroad Band trio featuring Cajon and lead guitar, you will keep your hands clapping and toes tapping. Willing to work with smaller budget venues, as well.

MET is committed to extending access to theatre in schools and communities throughout Missouri. In addition to our programming in Kansas City, we offer theatre performances of masterworks and classics and customized theatre education programs that serve K-12 schools and entire communities. From full performances of mainstage touring productions, to school-based residencies, we deliver quality theatre programming designed to provide an outstanding artistic experience for both our presenting partners and their participants. Each project is customized to meet the needs of participants and to work with resources available to achieve success.

Since 1973, the nationally-renowned Metro Theater Company has provided exceptional arts experiences to students throughout Missouri. Our touring productions respect the intelligence and emotional wisdom of young people, inviting them into the world of theater and charging their imaginations. The themes of any Metro Theater Company work provide opportunities for meaningful learning in support of Missouri Show-Me Standards. We provide Learning Guides for teachers, parents, and other educators to expand the learning experience beyond the performance itself. Talk-back sessions are a part of every performance, which often lead to further stimulating conversation at school and at home. Metro Theater Company can also provide classroom residencies where our teaching artists use drama and creative movement to enhance core curriculum and character education. During COVID-19 many of MTC’s programs are available for virtual touring, including arts-integrated workshops for classrooms and live Q&As to accompany streaming productions. Metro Theater Company honors include the Missouri Arts Award, the Kevin Kline Award for Outstanding Production for Young Audiences, and the “What’s Right with the Region” Award from FOCUS St. Louis, among others.
The in-school touring production fee is $750. (If a school books two performances in one day, the fee for both performances is $1200. $5 per student for virtual tours.
What if Puppets has been delighting audiences with their compelling storytelling performances for over 30 years. This award-winning puppet company’s available touring performances include Animal Amigos, How to Snag a Sea Monster, Cirque du Wiener Dog, and Ringo’s Sing Along Road Trip. What if Puppets performs throughout the Kansas City metropolitan area, the United States, and internationally. What if Puppets creates and builds all its puppets in-house, reflecting a diverse and colorful array of puppet characters and works. Additionally, What if Puppets offers Arts Integrated residencies to various elementary schools, preschools, and other organizations that focus on socio-emotional learning through the puppetry arts.

Maurice Hayes is a professional singer/recording artist residing in Kansas City Missouri. His schedule includes appearances throughout the United States as a guest vocalist in recitals as a solo performer or with jazz bands and well as orchestras all year long. His programmed performances include; The Great American Songbook. Performance of the most important and influential American popular songs and jazz standards from the early 20th century that has stood the test of time in their legacy. Programs also include a Senior Concert Series bringing memorable moments and brightening the lives of our senior community in assisted living and retirement facilities through the music of yesteryears. Patriotic songs are often performed as a tribute to Veterans and their families.
